How to make ALOE GEL & ALOE WATER easily at home
Hi Everyone! I hope you all are doing great.
Since I've really been into GARDENING and have tried out a lot of stuff, I wanted to share my experiences and a few tips and tricks with you all. I hope you enjoy it!!!
In this post, I'll be giving a step-by-step procedure on how you can easily extract Aloe Gel from the Aloe Vera plant, as we know the benefits aloe has for the skin and hair.
SHELF LIFE: The shelf life of pure aloe gel is a week in the refrigerator.
Following are the steps to extract ALOE GEL from the aloe vera plant:
- Cut the leaf from the plant (prefer diagonally cutting, so the plant regrows faster)
- Place the leaf upright in a cup or bowl (any shallow container will also do)
- Now, let the dark yellow resin drain out from the leaf. This yellowish bitter substance contains LATEX, which is harmful and irritates the skin.
The above steps are to be considered if you are using the aloe for any purpose to prevent skin irritation.
- Now, use a vegetable peeler to peel off the edges of the aloe leaf making it easier to remove the thorns and also for the next steps.
- Next, carefully slice the leaf along the edge of the skin down to the whole length of the leaf with the help of a knife.
- Scoop out the aloe gel with a spoon (try to avoid the yellow portion below the rind)
- Lastly, place the extracted aloe gel in a sterilized clean jar and try to utilize it within a week.
Following are the steps to make ALOE WATER:
- Take about 2 or 3 tablespoons of aloe gel (the one we have extracted in the previous steps) along with 1 cup of clean water.
- Add everything to a blender and blend till it becomes smooth.
- The aloe water can be sprayed on the hair for shine right after a head wash or on the face to retain moisture.
STORAGE OF ALOE GEL: The easiest way to store Aloe Vera Gel is by freezing it overnight in an ice cube tray, then you can store these cubes in the freezer for up to 1 year.
We've reached the end of this blog and I hope you enjoyed reading the above steps. I'm looking forward to you all trying it too.
If you have any questions regarding the making of the aloe gel or the aloe water do feel free to ask them in the comments section below.
I have tried making my own (organic) aloe gel and I enjoyed it a ton.
By the way, you do try it out too, and share your experiences.

DeleteI always had this problem regarding that dark yellow thing and never found a way to get rid of it. Atleast now I've got an idea how to remove it as it does irritate the skin at times. Thanks for the information
