How to decorate a small space?

As you know that many people face a common problem of not having enough space. It is always too much stuff and too little space. I sometimes face this same problem too.

As you know, a problem always comes with a solution so, I'll be sharing a few ideas that you could incorporate into your space to make it look beautiful and mesmerizing.

One of the easiest ways to fix the problem of not having enough space is by simply tricking your eye into believing that you have more space than you normally do. But some physical changes in your room are also necessary to make a difference right.

Here, I'll be sharing five very easy ways that I also incorporate in my space to make it feel larger and that too without the need of an interior designer.

  • Color of the room:

"COLOR" the very basic thing yet the most important. Colors such as white, gray, beige, and other lighter shades on the color chart will make your space appear airier and spacious. I would suggest you choose different pieces with texture (if possible) so that your room doesn't look and feel falt.

  • Choose Small Scale Furniture:

Just like color, the scale of furniture is also a very important aspect to keep in mind while decorating your room. Whenever you pick out furniture for your space make sure to pick smaller pieces, to trick them into believing that your space itself is big.

Also, keep in mind to measure the items before you buy and try to use terms such as "compact" or "space-saving" while buying your furniture.

  • Choose pieces of furniture that serve two purposes:

While decorating a small space try to limit the number of furniture pieces that you use. As you know too much furniture would make your place look too cramped up and not deliver your main motive of making the room look spacious.

So, try and choose furniture that functions in various ways, such as storage cupboards that can be used as an extra seating area, or convertible furniture such as sofa cum beds that serve two purposes.

  • The theme of a room:

I would emphasize on this point a lot as a color scheme or theme is very important to make a room look spacious and appealing. Make sure to select a particular theme based on your needs and stick to it throughout your whole space.

If you like wooden furniture, try to buy pieces similar to its color or that are made of the same type of wood. This way, your eyes will view your whole room as one big space, rather than multiple tiny ones.

  • Folding Furniture:

Folding furniture as the name suggests is compact and easy to store when not utilized, and be sure to fold them back up when not in use.

These items would create more space in your room to move around and would give you a sense of openness in your space.

Folding chairs, beds, tray tables and wall-mounted desks that fold down from the wall are all amazing pieces of furniture that will help you expand your space.

  • To conclude:

While decorating or revamping a room would take some time and a lot of effort but all your hard work will pay off and soon your room would look more spacious and you will have a ton of space to move things around.
