How to Stay Positive when things aren't going your way?
As we all go through a lot in life and during these times especially, things may or may not be going great for you. Nonetheless today I'm going to share my few tips to help you stay positive and productive in life as much as possible.
I do sometimes get asked this question and that is how do I keep myself happy or how can I always have a smile on my face no matter what is going on and the simplest answer I can give is to look at the bright side of a specific situation.
However, today I'll be sharing a few common yet sometimes unnoticed things that we can incorporate in our daily life that can help us stay positive and keep us going when times are tough and it seems impossible to do so.
- Focus on what is going right.
I know it seems easier said than done but honestly, no matter how bad things are going on in your life there is always a bit of hope and positivity hidden amidst all the gloominess. However, if we start practicing positivity and gratitude even on a day-to-day basis, it can, therefore, become a habit that makes it easier to stay positive during hard times.
You could try out a simple yet effective practice that would help your brain to look at the positive side of things instead of the negative.
Give this a try, every morning right 3 things that you are grateful for, no matter how big or small they are. Just write it down! And slowly you'll feel a change taking place in your life.
And do let me know if this practice has helped you in any way.
- Look at it as a challenge that you will grow from.
You could always look at your struggles and problems from a different perspective, with a simple idea of being able to conquer your challenges seamlessly. As we all know that it is always going to rain before the rainbow, hence you could always choose whether you're gonna sit and let the struggles and problems affect you or if you're going to conquer this and enjoy the beautiful rainbow, when you get out of it.
- Share it with people you trust.
One of the most helpful things to do is to talk about your problems with others close to you. Talking with someone doesn't mean you are going to get a solution or answer to your problem but the mere acknowledgment that we receive from another individual is also enough to make you realize that you are not alone.
It's usually not a healthy thing to keep your feelings and struggles hidden inside yourself. Your biggest problem is the secrets that you have hidden.
If you don't want to talk to a family member or friend you could utilize other resources such as therapists, support groups online, or offline as there would be many people experiencing similar problems, and then dealing with your problems would be easier for you.
This will make you feel much more positive about the whole thing because you'll be able to heal much easier and faster.
- Ending:
I hope that the above points do add in a bit of positivity in your life and help you get through all your struggles and problems that you are facing.
